Reach Haritha Haram targets: Collector M Rammohan Rao
Nizamabad: All departments must move for the successful implementation of Haritha Haram programme and should plant saplings as per the target set for them, District Collector M Rammohan Rao directed. He participated in Prajavani programme at Pragati Bhavan here on Monday.
Later speaking with the officials of various departments, the Collector cautioned everyone to be alert during the monsoon season. The officials and staff of municipality, agriculture and forest departments were asked to plant saplings during the rainy season. He asked the officials of education department to make the students to participate in Haritha Haram programme.
The Collector told the revenue and irrigation departments to be alert in their catchment areas and take action to prevent any damage as various ponds and tanks in the district are overflowing due to the heavy rains.
Rammohan Rao asked the health department to be alert and keep a check on infectious diseases during the rainy season and to take precautionary measures to prevent spread of viral fever. He ordered the officials concerned to provide safe drinking water and to maintain clean environment in the SC, ST, BC and minority schools. He also told the officials not to teach the students in dilapidated buildings.
Joint Collector Venkateswar Rao, DRO Anjaiah, DRDO Ramesh Rathod, RDO Venkateswarlu, officials of various departments and others attended the meeting.
