Update: 2019-06-10 22:13 IST

Karimnagar: Telangana Voluntary and Community Health Workers (ASHA) and CITU union members staged a protest in front of the Collectorate here on Monday demanding the government release of pending wages of five months.

CITU district secretary Bandari Shekar said that five months' salary from January 2019 is due to Asha workers, which threw them into severe financial problems. They were unable to afford their daily expenditure, he said. Shekar also said that they have taken the issue to the government's attention already, yet there is no use. He once again demanded that the government should release the pending wages immediately.
