Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & MP A. Revanth Reddy on Monday demanded that the BJP Government repeal the three controversial farm laws without further delay.

He was speaking to media persons after he was arrested near Uppal Bus Depot for participating in the nationwide Bharat Bandh call given by the farmers and supported by Congress-led 20 opposition parties.

Revanth Reddy said that more than 400 farmers have lost their lives during the agitation against farm laws in the last 10 months. He said four people from Gujarat were trying to sell off the entire country. While Prime Minister Narender Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were acting as sellers, industrialists Adani and Ambani are buyers. He said an attempt has been made to privatise the agriculture sector through the 'Black Laws'.

The TPCC Chief ridiculed Minister K. Tarakarama Rao for stating that the TRS party was against the three new farms laws. He said if TRS was really opposed to the farm laws, then why it was not participating in the Bharat Bandh. "While TRS is enacting the drama of rivalry with the BJP in Telangana, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is enjoying dinner with PM Modi in New Delhi. When all political parties have supported the Bharat Bandh call given by farmers, why CM KCR went to Delhi and meeting the Union Ministers?" he asked.

TRS leaders participated in only one protest against the farm laws in December 2020. But now, CM KCR has entered into a secret deal with the BJP Govt to suppress farmers' agitation, he said.

He alleged that the implementation of controversial farm laws would lead to the creation of artificial scarcity of food grains and other products by private companies. The Adanis and Ambanis will not only decide the price of each crop harvested by the farmer, but they will also dictate the prices of goods to be supplied to common people, he feared.

He demanded that a resolution be passed in Telangana Assembly against the three contentious farm laws. He said that the Congress party would support the resolution in the House.

Revanth Reddy said that neither the BJP Govt at the Centre nor TRS Govt in Telangana came to the rescue of common people during the Corona pandemic. He said both the governments suppressed real figures of Covid cases and deaths and did nothing for the people during the crisis.

He demanded that Rs. 10 Lakh compensation should be paid to the families of those who lost their lives due to Covid-19.

The TPCC Chief expressed serious concern over rising unemployment across the country, especially Telangana State. He said nearly 33 crore people in the country were jobless. The unemployment situation in Telangana has reached turned worst with KCR Govt taking no interest in addressing the issues. He reminded that CM KCR had promised to give one job for each household. However, he said the TRS Govt was neither creating new jobs nor it is filling the posts that fell vacant due to retirements. He said that the Biswal Committee has specifically pointed out that there were 1.91 lakh vacant posts in various departments of the State Government. He said that CM KCR took no measures to act on the findings of the Biswal Committee to at least fill the vacant posts. He also pointed out that nearly 19 lakh jobless youth, who have registered themselves with the Telangana Public Service Commission, were still waiting for the job notifications. He said that the KCR Govt was not evening paying the promised Unemployment Allowance of Rs. 3,016 per month to the jobless youth.

Revanth Reddy said that all members of the KCR family got jobs after the formation of Telangana State, but the qualified and educated youth of Telangana remained unemployed.

Accusing TRS Govt of intoxicating the youth of Telangana, he suggested that flexies of CM KCR should be erected before wine shops and bars. He said liquor should be poured on KCR's portraits at all-important crossroads in the State till job notifications are issued. He also advised the youth to book a liquor bottle on Swiggy and send it to Pragathi Bhavan.

Speaking to media persons at Uppal Police Station, Revanth Reddy demanded that the prices of petrol diesel and cooking gas should be reduced. He demanded that petrol and diesel should be brought under GST to control and reduce their prices.

Revanth Reddy announced that the Congress party would unite all opposition parties to continue agitation against the anti-people and anti-farmer policies of BJP and TRS Governments.
