Residents fume as garbage piles up

Secunderabad: Even as the Swachh Bharat and Swachh Survekshan programs are in full swing in many parts of the city, the garbage has piled up at the Chiranjeervi apartment near West Marredpally in front of the road and the indifferent SCB workmen are not bothered in removing it.

Many locals have complained about foul smell being emitted from here.

"We have informed the authorities concerned about the unattended garbage near our apartment and this is becoming a big health hazard and also adversely affecting the environment," said P Praveen, a resident, while speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday.

According to the locals, owners of eateries eating hubs and small traders dispose the waste in polythene bags. Verbal and written complaints to the civic body have not yielded any results, they lamented.
