Revanth urges all organisations to rally behind RTC agitators
Hyderabad: Congress MP A Revanth Reddy called upon all the organisations in the State to support the RTC strike which entered the ninth day on Sunday.
Addressing the round table meeting organised by Telangana PRTU, Revanth Reddy said all the organisations should think this as their strike and not that of RTCs.
"All of you should support and make the bandh a success otherwise KCR will not allow you to raise your voice in future," said Revanth Reddy. He said driver Srinivas Reddy was settled in life but he sacrificed for 48,000 workers of RTC.
He lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao stating that he deprived the RTC workers of celebrating Dasara and Diwali festivals.
"The workers were deprived of celebrating Dasara and Diwali festivals during the Telangana agitation and now they are again made to go to strike during the festive season by KCR," Revanth Reddy said.
If the workers are dismissed for not attending the duties for just two days, what should be done against the Chief Minister KCR who is not coming to secretariat for six years? Whether PD Act should be used, asked Revanth Reddy.
He also questioned the silence of Ministers T Harish Rao (who was president of TMU) and E Rajender. "They were the reason for suicides during Telangana agitation and now they are the reason for suicide of Srinivas Reddy," said the Congress MP.
BC Organisations president R Krishnaiah alleged that all sections were getting deceived in Telangana. He said the Chief Minister has invented a new word 'self dismissal'.
CPIML New Democracy leader K Goverdhan alleged that KCR was acting like a dictator.
In another Round Table meeting at BJP office, former MLC B Mohan Reddy demanded the government to take up talks with the workers. The round table adopted resolutions including- demanding merging of RTC with the government, implementation of pay revision agreement made on April 1, 2017.
It urged all the teachers associations to come forward for the agitation. The participants said they would go door-to-door to explain to people about the RTC workers decision to go on strike.
