Revanth wants AICC to issue show-cause notice to Uttam
Hyderabad: Congress MP from Malkajgiri A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday has complained to All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and incharge of State Congress RC Khuntia against Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Uttam Kumar Reddy.
According to sources, Revanth met Khuntia at a private hotel in Hyderabad and demanded to issue show-cause notice to Uttam. He said that the PCC president has unilaterally declared the name of party candidate for the bypoll in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency. Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy announced the name of N Padmavathi as candidate of Congress from Huzurnagar.
He alleged that even the high command was not informed about the selection of candidate. Khuntia promised Revanth that issue would be taken up to the notice of AICC.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy, in an informal chat with media, in the Assembly lobbies, has said that absence of Congress members in the Assembly was not correct when Energy issue was discussed.
He said that he has come to the Assembly to question the Congress MLAs about it. He stated that wrong message would go into the people if the Congress did not question the government on the issues of the power sector.
He alleged that the party leaders have not informed him about their meeting with Governor on the defections issue. He said that as member of Congress Legislature Party, he should be informed.
The MP claimed that candidate for the Huzurnagar bypoll was not selected. He said that he has been proposing the name of S Kiran Reddy on behalf of the Congress. Revanth made it clear that the budget session of Assembly should be held for 14 days and it would be illegal if the session is reduced even by a day as per the Assembly rules book.
He described that reducing the session to 10 days amounts to living together by a man and woman without marriage. He said that if anyone files a case then the court would dismiss the session.
Speaking on the PCC president issue, he said that no one knows, who gets the posts in the Congress. He stated that he has attended the round table on uranium held under the chairmanship of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, after he was asked to attend it by PCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and senior leader V Hanumantha Rao.
