The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths on Sunday arrested a revenue official while accepting a bribe here at Jogipet mandal of Sangareddy district.

Narsimhulu demanded Rs 15,000 from a farmer Manaiah to issue three land passbooks -- Rs 5,000 for each. Manaiah, a native of Chintakunta had applied for new land passbooks after dividing his land into three parts. The farmer was demanded to pay Rs 15,000 for the passbooks for which he paid Rs 5,000 in advance.

Meanwhile, the revenue official was promoted as a senior assistant and transferred to Kalher mandal. Unaware of the transfer, the farmer called up Narsimhulu and enquired about the passbooks who asked Manaiah to pay the remaining amount.

Based on the farmer's complaint, the ACB officials laid a trap at a hotel in Jogipet and caught Narsimhulu red-handed while accepting the bribe. He was sent to remand.
