Road works under PPM reviewed

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore on Friday reviewed on the ongoing road laying works under Preventive Periodical Maintenance (PPM) scheme in the city.

He held a meeting with engineering department officials to review the progress of the works.

Speaking at the meeting, he said that road laying works for 802 lane kilometres were taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 251 crore, of which works for 503 lane kilometres have been completed so far.

While 62.74 per cent of works costing Rs 173 crore were completed, GHMC has already released Rs 110 crore and the remaining Rs 63 crore would be released shortly, the commissioner said.

The contractors have been paid 68.95 per cent of total estimated cost.

Dana Kishore instructed engineering officials to ensure that the works are completed before the onset of rainy season.
