Rs 15 crore for Bonalu festival: TS government

Hyderabad: Telangana government has allocated Rs 15 crore for ensuing Bonalu festival in the city.

Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav chaired a review meeting on the Bonalu festival celebrations in the city during next month. Ashadam Bonalu festival starts from July 4 onwards.

State government has made Bonalu as state festival and has been releasing funds every year to the temples for festival arrangements.

The minister asked the officials of traffic, police, GHMC, water works and health departments to ensure devotees do not face inconvenience.

The minister said that government would run special buses from across the state. All steps would be taken to make arrangements, he said.
