Rs 2 lakh insurance for Panchayat Raj staff soon
Hyderabad : The State government will launch " Pattana Pragathi ' in all municipalities soon on the lines of the 30- day Palle Pragathi programme taken up to strengthen infrastructure in the panchayats recently.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday announced the launch of Surendar Kumar Day Life Insurance Scheme for all workers in the Panchayat Raj department.
Rs 2 lakh insurance amount will be given to the bereaved families of the workers who died suddenly. The life insurance scheme has been named after SK Day as a mark of respect to the leader who was called as father of Panchayat Raj system in the country.
Addressing the District Collectors' meeting which was also attended by Ministers, KCR said that the scheme will be formulated on the lines of Rythu Bheema for farmers.
He also announced that the Palle Pragathi programme would be implemented in June and September for 10 days every year.
He instructed the officials to prepare modalities and guidelines for the launch of Pattana Pragathi in every municipality for at least 20 days.
The Chief Minister instructed Panchayat Raj Minister E Dayakar Rao to study the possibility of building regularisation schemes and land regularisation scheme which were already in force in the municipal bodies in the State.
