Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor B Rammohan has announced ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh to kin of the woman, who died and medical assistance to the victims, who received injuries in the horrific accident at biodiversity flyover on Saturday.

Following the tragic accident, the flyover has been closed for three days.

According to the GHMC officials, the mayor made it clear that the bridge had been closed for three days for making arrangements to control the vehicles speed on the flyover.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin visited the hospital and spoke with the injured victims of the incident.

On receipt of the information, the disaster response teams rushed to the spot and carried out the rescue operations.

However, when the signage is set to be only 40 kmph on the bridge, motorists are traveling at a high speed of over 90 kmph.

Officials also said that due to over-speeding, recently, two people were killed when a car driver in an inebriated condition rammed into them while they were taking a selfie on the bridge.
