RSRW station established in Ramagundam
Ramagundam: To find out the weather accurately using of advanced technology, the officer of National Weather Forecasting Centre, Hyderabad, Gajula Mallaiah launched the Radio-sonde and Radio Wind (RSRW) station here in Ramagundam.
He launched the station by releasing the weather balloon into the air here at the premises of Ramagundam Weather Forecasting Centre in Peddaplli district. In the united Andhra Pradesh, this advanced technology was in usage in Hyderabad, Machilipatnam and Vishakapatnam cities only.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials from National Weather Forecasting centre, Delhi, Madhusudhan Mishra and Vivek Kumar said that as per the proposals sent by the government of the Telangana State for establishing a weather forecasting centre for giving the people information of weather accurately day-to-day and time to time, new advanced and modern technology based RSRW stations was established here in
Ramagundam.
Gajula Mallaiah speaking on the occasion, said that this is the second such system which was established after Hyderabad in Telangana region. Establishment of RSRW centre is costlier. Every day the ballons must be filled with the hydrogen gas and must be released into the atmosphere and by which we can get accurate weather report, he added.
The balloon which was released went up to 32 kms height and after giving the information of changes that are taking in place in weather for about 90 minutes has burst, he informed. Along with Ramagundam, the RSRW station was established in Kavali of Andhra Pradesh, he added.
