RTC bus hits senior citizen, injures him badly in Nagarkurnool

Nagarkurnool: The sheer negligence of a RTC bus driver has grievously injured an elderly passenger in Kollapur bus stand on Wednesday. The passenger who was standing near a bus bay in the bus stand was hit by an over speeding bus driver. The passenger was grievously injured as the impact of the accident crushed his leg causing profuse bleeding.

The locals immediately shifted the victim to Kollapur hospital and from there to Hyderabad for better treatment. It is said that the passenger's condition is critical as the fracture to his leg has caused heavy bleeding.

The locals said the RTC authorities in Kollapur depot are one of the worst as they have no bus services running on time in the region. Even if there are few bus services, the bus drivers and conductors behave rudely with the passengers.

"Kollapur is a very backward area. To facilitate better transportation the government had recently made Kollapur into a bus depot. However, even though it is made into a bus depot there are not proper bus services available from this region.

"If by chance anyone stays back in Kollapur beyond 7 pm there will be no transportation services available from the RTC. Even though there are one or two buses even those buses do not ply on time and the passengers face tough time due to lack of proper transportation facilities," said Banavath Shankar, a resident of Kollapur.
