RTC buses remain off roads in erstwhile Nalgonda district

Nalgonda: Bharat Bandh concluded peacefully in the combined Nalgonda district, in support of the farmers. Leaders and activists of Congress, CPM and CPI along with the ruling TRS held bike rallies and protests on roads in major towns of the district and national highways passing through the district.

During the bandh, all RTC buses in the combined Nalgonda district remained off the roads. Business establishments remained closed. Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy along with Rajya Sabha MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav led the protest on Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway in Suryapet. Traffic was completely paralyzed in Suryapet district due to the Bandh.

In Nalgonda district headquarters, MLA Kancharla Bhupal Reddy along with Municipal Chairman Mandadi Saidi Reddy led a protest and Minister Jagadish Reddy also participated.

TRS activists led by Kodad MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav, parked tractors across the road at AP-TS border and blocked vehicles coming from Andhra Pradesh. Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy along with party workers blocked national highway 65 at Kethepally and fired salvos on the Central government anti farmer policies. He demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to roll back the new farm laws unconditionally.

All political parties except BJP took part in the agitation in all the major towns in the erstwhile Nalgonda district.

In Bhongir, BJP and Congress leaders and activists entered argument with each other, and police dispersed them to avoid any untoward incident.
