Karimnagar: RTC employees on relay hunger strike
Karimnagar: Demanding that the government should solve their problems, the representatives of Telangana Mazdoor Union of Road Transport Corporation (RTC-TMU) staged relay hunger strike in front of Karimnagar bus depot-2 on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, TMU district secretary MP Reddy alleged that the newly appointed depot manager is behaving rudely with the RTC employees and not taking any initiation to solve their issues. The employees gave agenda notices four times in just two months to the depot manager from the time of his appointment but he never responded till today and never gave assurance of solving issues of the employees. Moreover, he is creating extra problems to the employees, he added.
MP Reddy said that the employees had staged a dharna wearing red badges on September 9 demanding solution to their issues, to which there was no response. Hence, the employees decided to go for relay hunger strike from Friday (September 13) onwards until all their issues are solved, he informed.
TMU chairman Shankar Reddy, working president G Manohar, division leaders PR Reddy, AR Rao, Singh, G Ramesh, Kanakaiah, MR Reddy, KS Reddy, Mallesham, Srinivas Rao, N Sunitha, Padma, Vasantha, Ganga, Sarojana, Aruna, Vimala, Thirupathamma, Padmavathi and Parameshwar participated in the dharna along with others.
