RTC ferries 12 lakh devotees to Medaram

Medaram (Mulugu): The State-run RTC has so far ferried more than 12 lakh devotees to the Sammakka Saralamma jatara at Medaram from various destinations across Telangana.

Mulugu in-charge Collector RV Karnan, who had a review meeting with the officials here on Friday, heaped praise on the RTC for providing quality service to the devotees. "We have been running special buses to Medaram from January 29 in the run up to the main Sammakka Saralamma jatara that commenced on February 5.

The RTC not only increased the number of special buses to Medaram but also ensured safety of the devotees," Karnan said. He said that its no easy task to handle such a huge devotee rush that running into lakhs, however, the RTC had succeeded in extending its services to devotees.

RTC Executive Director Vinod Kumar, Warangal Regional Manager Anchuri Sridhar and I&PR joint Director D S Jagan were among others present.
