Ashok's family members, who found him lying unconscious at their residence, rushed him to a private hospital in the town. The doctors at the hospital performed stomach flushing, it is learnt.

Ashok belongs to Somaram village under Thorrur mandal in Mahabubabad district. The RTC JAC along with opposition party leaders gathered at the hospital as soon as they learnt the news of Ashok's bid to end his life.

It is learnt that Ashok was dejected by the Mahabubabad incident in which RTC driver A Naresh had ended his life.

According to reports, Ashok was worried about his job as the State government continues to ignore the RTC employees' strike that entered 41st day on Thursday.

It is learnt that he was depressed with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's decision to privatise the RTC. He was also worried about the frequent deferrals by the High Court dealing with the RTS strike.

With no salary for the last two months, he was under the pressure, it is reported. Ashok, who has two children, had defaulted in payment of school fees. With no way out, he tried to end his life.
