Sandra, SCCL join hands for green cause in Khammam

Sathupally (Khammam): Local MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah participated in the ongoing Haritha Haram programme at Jalagam Vengal Rao opencast mine in Sathupally on Wednesday.

Speaking after planting saplings on the premises of the opencast mine, the MLA appreciated the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for giving big support to the programme. He informed that the company was planting nearly one crore plants in all areas in the present Haritha Haram and asked everyone to extend their help towards making the plantation drive a huge success.

He also appealed to the SCCL officials to work towards the development of the Sathupally town. Later, Sandra distributed 2,000 fruit-bearing plants to the people.

Company Directors S Chandra Sekhar and K Balaram, speaking at the programme, informed that the company was planning to plant nearly 2,000 plants in the opencast area and it was distributing various varieties of plants to people for the purpose.

General Manager of the company CH Narasimha Rao, officers Rushendrudu, Devi Kumar, Dhanpal, Srinivas, Srinivasa Chary and Narasimha Rao, public representatives and staff of the company attended the programme.
