Sanitation takes a beating in Toopran
Toopran: The garbage has been piling up day by day in the municipal limits posing threat to the public. Already people are suffering from fevers like viral, malaria, dengue and typhoid due to the unhygienic environment and surroundings.
Binde Naresh, a local, said his son was infected with dengue and was shifted to a private hospital. Last year also, Sai, son of local leader Ashok, died due to dengue. It is reported that several people of Keshav Nagar have been suffering from fevers, out of which three people were diagnosed with dengue.
Local doctor Amarender Singh said water stagnation and filthy surroundings become breeding centers for mosquitoes and people should keep away from such areas.
Locals demand the municipal staff to clean up the garbage that has been piled up for several weeks. Locals B Shobha, Jagan, TSF president Sai, Ashok, Bhagyaraj appealed to the authorities concerned to swing into the action to contain the diseases.
