SC to hear petition on Hyderabad encounter on Dec 11
The Supreme Court will be hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed seeking a probe into the encounter of four accused in rape and murder of the Hyderabad vet on December 11.
The petitioner, Advocate GS Mani, mentioned the petition before the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde on Monday. However, the CJI asked to wait for the petition being examined by the HC deferring the case hearing to Wednesday.
GS Mani sought directions for investigating, registering an FIR and action against the policemen who killed all the four accused in the encounter.
The Hyderabad police said that the accused Mohammad Areef Pasha, Jollu Naveen, Jollu Shiva and Chennakeshavulu attacked them with stones and later snatched their guns during the crime recreation near a village at Shadnagar. They said that they killed the accused for self-defence.
