SCCL workers expect 35 pc share in company’s profits

Khammam: A total of 48,500 workers in the Singareni Collieries Company limited ( SCCL) are eagerly waiting for announcement of share of profits with employees. The company announced profit during 2018-19 financial year at Rs 1,766 crore.

It is a record that the company made such a huge profit. SCCL Chairman and Managing Director ( CMD) N Sridhar announced that the company had made record profit. The workers of the company have been pinning hopes on getting good share in profits this year. They also expect 35 per cent share in profits.

The CMD announced after he met the Chief Minister that the company would announce the percentage of share in profits to the workers. AITUC central committee member Vanga Venkat demanded 35 per cent share in profits to workers. He explained in detailed percentage of profits given to workers for the last 10 years.

He said the company during 1999-2000 gave 10 per cent share inn profit. The process continued every year, he said. He said in last ten years the company had given the share in profits to workers.

in the years 2009-11, 2010-11 the SCCL gave 16 per cent share in profits to workers, 2011- 2012 17 per cent, 2013-14 20 per cent, 2014-15 21 per cent, 2015-16 given 23 per cent, 2016-17 given 25 per cent and 2017-18 27 per cent. This year 2018-19 the company had achieved big profit Rs 1,766 crores, he said.

Another recognised union leader Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham State vice-president M Raja Reddy said, the company would provide good amount of share in profits to workers.

Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) State Secretary R Ahmed said the recognised union had failed to exert pressure on management. Workers Union additional secretary M Rangaiah demanded that company provide 35 per cent share in profit to workers.
