SCCL workers to go on strike today in Peddapalli
Peddapalli: Following the call given by the National Trade Unions - AITUC, INTUC, CITY and HMS, the workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) had announced that they will stage one-day strike on Tuesday (September 24) opposing 100 per cent FDI on coal mining.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the Telangana Sinagareni Employees Union President B Venkat Reddy
said in support of the four national trade unions, who gave a strike call opposing the move of the Central government on imposing 100 per cent FDI on coal mining, the SCCL workers took this decision. He announced that they will launch one-day strike on September 24 to bring the issue to the notice of the Central government.
It is to be noted that with the strike call given by the workers and employees of Singareni Collieries Company, the company is going to incur a loss of about Rs 70 crores for one day.
