School buses told to comply with Motor Vehicle Act rules in Miryalaguda
Miryalaguda (Nalgonda): Deputy Superintendent of Police Srinivas warned private school managements to run their school buses as per rules and regulations of Motor Vehicle Act lest face stringent action.
On Thursday, he examined the condition of buses of various schools in Miryalaguda town.
Speaking on the occasion, the DSP said all school buses must be in yellow colour, must mention that it is a school bus on the front and rear sides of the bus and should write 'Hired' if bus were hired from anyone.
"All school buses must have first aid boxes and firefighting equipment, speed of the vehicles must not exceed 60 kmph, have to arrange grills to windows of buses, phone number should be mentioned on the buses," he said, adding that space should be provided for school bags under the seats of buses and the bus must have a guardian and driver with five years of driving experience with valid licence. He warned of seizing the buses if they violate traffic rules.
Miryalaguda town CIs S Naga Raju and D Srinivas Reddy, SIs Raju and Kurmaiah, Traffic SI Kranthi Kumar and others accompanied the DSP.
