School Innovation Challenge Exhibition: KTR Advices Teachers To Encourage The Innovative Thoughts Of Children

The students who are studying in Government schools showed off their prowess through their innovative ideas and proved that they are no less than any corporate standard children. Their discoveries awestruck all and sundry and showed off their talent to the world. They sharpened their ideas and made new inventions. The Department of Education organized an exhibition to showcase creativity in children. 'School Innovation Challenge' has been conducted for students studying in public schools and gifts were presented to all the students who participated in the event.

Students studying in public schools impressed with their innovative ideas. 'Managing Design Thinking Innovation' competition was conducted in all the Government schools with the help of 5,067 high school teachers in all 33 districts of Telangana. The Telangana State Innovation Cell, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, UNICEF and the Inqui-Lab Foundation, has launched the 'School Level Innovation Challenge.

The Government aims to guide the teachers and students by introducing 21st-century skills. The Government launched the 'Innovation Challenge' on August 28. So, Government high schools have enrolled in themselves in this 'School Innovation Challenge' through the above-said online portal. Thus all the Government school students from grades 6 to 10 who completed the online module on 'Design Thinking for Innovation' received certificates.

A total of 7,093 innovative ideas were submitted by students as part of the 'Telangana School Innovation Talent-2020 (School Innovation Challenge exhibition)'. Out of these, 25 schools have set up a practical exhibition. The event was held at MCRHRD in Hyderabad and was attended by IT Minister KTR and Education Minister Sabita Indrareddy. They examined the devices made by the children.

Municipal Minister KTR also suggested the teachers introduce 'Innovative Experiments' as a topic in the school curriculum. He asked them to put a lot of emphasis on creativity at the school level, similar to engineering courses just like adding weightage to the marks sheet with Apprenticeship or Practice School programs. In addition to these ideas, he also wants to look at how to connect industries with schools. Teachers say that this program is very useful to bring out the creativity in students.
