SCR enters agreement with SCCL to reduce wagon detention

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has entered in to an agreement with Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) regarding Engine on Load (EOL) scheme on Friday.

This scheme envisages that the train engine will remain available with the rake during loading operations in the siding and clear the train immediately after loading operations is completed.

In this milestone development, SCR entered in to this EOL agreement at five of SCCL sidings viz, two at Ramagundam, one each at Asifabad, Kothagudem and Manuguru. About one lakh tones of coal per day is being moved from these locations.

With the implementation of this scheme at these siding locations with effect from 1st July, 2019 the benefits include Reduces Wagon detention, Improved Wagon turn around, Facilitates optimum utilization of Rollin Stock and enhances Freight Loading.

On this occasion, SCR General Manager Gajanan Mallya said that SCCL is one of the premier freight customer of SCR and execution of this agreement further strengthens the trade relations between the SCR and SCCL. It also helps in improving the loading basket of the zone, he added. The agreement was signed in the presence of K. Siva Prasad, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SCR; John Prasad, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, SCR and Dr J Allwyn, Executive Director (coal movement) of Singareni Collieries Company Limited.
