Mahbubnagar: Based on the call given by the State-level Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), the journalists from across various mandals in erstwhile Mahbubnagar district gave representations to the respective Tahsildars and urged them to resolve the issues of local journalists working at village, mandal and district-levels.

In Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Bhootpur, Wanaparthy and various other mandals across erstwhile Mahbubnagar districts, the members of TUWJ and from Indian Journalist Union gave representations to Tahsildars and urged them to take their issues to the notice of the government and get them resolved immediately.

Major issues of the journalists included the issuance of accreditation cards to local mandal and village-level journalists, allocation of double bedroom houses, health cards and other welfare facilities. "Journalists are acting as a bridge between the public and the government. They are working day in and day out to bring out various burning issues of the public to the government's notice and helping them resolved. However, the journalists themselves are bogged up with various issues.

In view of the above, we have decided to take up a peaceful agitation and have urged our fellow members from across various districts in the State to give representations to the local Tahsildars urging the government to solve the issues at the earliest," informed Gudipally Srinivas, TUJW Secretary.
