SDLCE extends last date for admissions in Warangal
Warangal: The School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (SDLCE) of Kakatiya University (KU), one of the premier institutions in the country offering distance mode education, on Thursday extended last date for the submission of offline and online admission forms for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2019-20 up to September 27. It may be mentioned here that KU is one of the top universities accredited with 'A' Grade by the NAAC.
Speaking to media persons here, SDLCE Director Prof Veeranna said: "It's a huge opportunity for the aspirants willing to pursue their education through distance mode. This is going to be the last batch of year-wise programme as the pattern of examination is going to be changed to semester system from next year and onwards."
He said that the SDLCE, which is strictly adhering to the guidelines of the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), UGC's regulatory council of the distance education programmes, is committed to impart quality education. Based on demand, the DEB has extended the last date for admissions, he said. He said that the administration has waived late fee for those submitting applications before September 21. The candidates can submit their applications with late fee of Rs 100 from September 22 to 27.
Some of the undergraduate courses offered by the institution: BA, BCom, BCom (Computers), Library Science (B Li Sc) and Business Administration (BBA). The postgraduate courses: MA (English, Hindi, Telugu, Sanskrit, Rural Development, HRM, Sociology, Political Science, Journalism), MSW, MSc, Maths, Psychology an Environmental Science and MCom. Those seeking admission have the option of selecting Urdu as their second language in undergraduate courses.
The candidates, who have passed Intermediate or equivalent examination, can get direct admission to undergraduate courses. Those candidates, who were qualified in the eligibility tests conducted by SDLCE between 2016 and 2019, can also get direct admission to degree courses.
The application forms can be downloaded from www.sdlceku.co.in and www.sdlcekuems.co.in or obtained from the SDLCE Students Learner Centres (earlier known as study centres). The SDLCE has 154 Students Learner Centres across Telangana. SDLCE media in-charge Dr Sangala Ephraim Raj was present at the meeting.
