Secunderabad Cantonment Board members demand release of 100 crore fund
Secunderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) members met Deepa Bajwa, the Director General Defence Estate (DGDE), who was in the city here on Wednesday, and requested her for the release of Rs 100 crore fund that the Central government had sanctioned for Secunderabad Cantonment.
Among other issues, the change in bylaws came up for discussion. The board members also gave a representation to limit the interference of the Local Military Authority (LMA).
Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, said that there was a need for a Sainik School in the city.
The board members also requested her for the use of B3 and B4 lands for the development of community halls and playgrounds. The DGDE manages 17 lakh acre defence land catering to land requirements of the three wings of the armed forces and providing civil and municipal services to 20 lakh residents of 62 cantonment areas in the country.
Online billing kiosk inaugurated
Two self-service kiosks for online payment of bills was inaugurated by the DGDE at a function at the SCB office here on Wednesday.
Officials said that two tabs would be placed, and citizens can easily pay their water, property and other bills.
