Secunderabad Cantonment Board panel proposes Rs 265 crores budget

Secunderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has proposed a grant-in-aid budget with Rs 265 crore outlay. It envisages a deficit of Rs 99 crore in the budget.

After several months, the SCB held a board meeting on austerity measures. Increasing budget for combating the COVID-19 pandemic took centre-stage in the discussions.

An amount of Rs 3 crore was earmarked for funding the Board to fight against the pandemic.

The Board has decided to approach HMWSSB for preparation of project and execution of laying lateral UGD lines to the main trunk JAICA line, according to Chandra Sekhar, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCB.

"Immediate opening of roads at AOC center, expanding sanitation teams, engagement of more vehicles for garbage and jetting & suction machines, conservancy manpower tenders were also approved at the board meeting," said Rama Krishna, the Vice President of SCB.

The budget proposal is required to be submitted to the General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC in C) in Pune under 16 of the cantonment account code 1924 for sanction.

    Building – 2.1 crore

♦    Roads – 8 crore

♦    Drains – 6 crore

♦    Water Supply – 6 crore

♦    Stores – 1.25 crore

♦    Misc. – 1 crore
