Secunderabad: The video of an RPF constable Vikul Kumar pulling off a passenger Venkat Reddy who had fallen into the gap between the platform and a moving train last August is still fresh in the memory of netizens. Like him there are several from the South Central Railway RPF who have been keeping a tight vigil and saving lives. In 2019, RPF personnel saved lives of 67 passengers who tried to board/alight the running trains.
The child help desk at the Secunderabad Railway Station rescued 1,063 children. Male culprits entering ladies compartments has been a major area of concern. In all, 488 were prosecuted and a fine of Rs 26,000 was realized.
