Seizure Of Rs 8-Cr Cash : BJP threatens legal action against police
Hyderabad: BJP would take legal action against those police officials who foisted false cases om the BJP, said party State unit president K Laxman said here on Thursday.
Addressing the media, he said that the Income Tax Department had declared that Rs 8 crore which was seized by the Task Force police was legally accounted money.
He said the party had taken a serious view of the highhanded and illegal action of the Task Force police. He alleged that the police had barged into the bank premises and the repeated clarifications given to them by the bank officials had fallen on their deaf ears.
He termed the action of the police as a conspiracy to damage the reputation of the party, he said, "We have not violated any rules of the Election Commission or the banking rules while withdrawing cash from the party account."
Adding, we could not take the issue forward as the entire party is engaged in the election process. However, "we will not leave it until suitable action is taken against those responsible for acting in an irresponsible manner."
Expressing confidence that his party would improve the number of seats and voting percentage.
Claiming that the poor response of voters showed how they were fed up with the TRS government in the State, Laxman said, and added that the TDP had already vanished from the State and Congress was struggling for its existence.
He thanked voters and the Election Commission for conducting polls in a peaceful manner.
