Selective leaks to the Media : Unhappy KCR warns Ministers, leaders

Update: 2019-08-26 02:33 IST

Hyderabad: Piqued over the speculations that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was unhappy with Finance Minister Eatala Rajender for disclosing the details of the Collectors' meeting to the media and is likely to drop him from the council of ministers, KCR reportedly gave a strong warning to party leaders not to make any statements that could lead to confusion and create problems for the ruling party.

TRS sources say that though the Chief Minister would not resort to the extreme step of dropping Eatala Rajender as was speculated in a section of the vernacular media in the last two days, KCR had expressed his displeasure over party leaders and ministers giving selective leaks to the media on certain occasions.

One of the papers that carried the news that the Finance Minister may be dropped belongs to a TRS leader. KCR is also said to have expressed his unhappiness at the ministers disclosing the details of the meeting to the Keesara RDO on the Revenue Act.

It was said that Rajender, who took part in the Collectors' Conference leaked information regarding the changes in the Revenue Act to a senior official at his farmhouse and immediately, the officials had given a call for protest against changes in the Act.

This has led to speculations that the Chief Minister may go in for a reshuffle of the Cabinet during Dasara and induct party working president K T Rama Rao in Eatala's place.

KTR is from Sircilla constituency in Karimnagar (erstwhile) and if he has to be included in the Cabinet somebody should make way for him and incidentally Eatala is also from Karimnagar.

However, some senior leaders feel that there may not be any reshuffle at this stage. They say that the Chief Minister has sent a clear message to the ministers that they are under watch and any wrongdoing could land them in trouble.
