Warangal: Senior BJP leader and former MLA Yendala Laxminarayana has emphasised the need for bringing awareness about the welfare schemes and programmes initiated by the Central government. Addressing the party cadre at a meeting here on Tuesday, he told them to sensitise the people about the funds released by the Centre to Telangana and the measures taken by the Narendra Modi government for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden.

"Almost all the welfare schemes carried by the State government have financial support from the Centre. Be it distribution of subsidised rice, pensions etc, the Centre is supporting the State. This needs to be propagandised," Laxminarayana said.

Vexed with Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)'s anti-people policies, many leaders were looking at the BJP. He said that BJP is the only alternative in the State that can replace the TRS in the future. He urged the cadre to ensure the membership of at least 250 to 300 in each booth. On the occasion, TRS leaders and Dabbeta Sudhakar and Sampath Reddy joined the BJP.

Warangal Urban party president Rao Padma Reddy, senior leaders Sangani Jagadeeshwar, Mandala Suresh, Pasikanti Rajendraprasad, Bakam Haishankar, Martin Luther and Sunchu Keshav were among others present.
