Seven held for playing three card poker

Hyderabad: Medipally police on Tuesday nabbed seven persons on charges of allegedly indulging in playing three card poker and betting money at Shantivanam park.

The police seized net cash of Rs 42,200 and five mobile phones from their possession. The accused identified as K Ramanaiah (43), U Venkata Rao (65), U Subbaiah (63), Y Subba Rao (52), D Sekhar (54), G Sagar (39) and D Sekhar (43).

According to the police, K Narsing Rathod, Sub-Inspector at Medipally police station received credible information that a group of people were playing three card poker betting money at Shantivanam park of Medipally.

On the receipt of information, the SI along with other staff raided the spot and nabbed seven accused persons.

On interrogation the accused persons further revealed that they used gather at the same place to play poker from a long time. Police registered a suo moto case against the accused.
