Several from TRS, Congress mull joining BJP after saffron party's good show
Ranga Reddy: After witnessing the tug of war between the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, buzz is that the several leaders from the TRS and the Congress are willing to switch loyalties to the saffron party hoping that BJP would continue its winning streak in the upcoming elections in the State.
While leaders feel that Congress is as good as non-existent in the State, the BJP on the other hand has increased its tally this time compared to the GHMC elections held in 2016 where it won only four corporator seats. The saffron party has strengthened its voting percentage and won maximum seats in Maheshwaram, Rajendranagar, Serilingampally and LB Nagar constituencies.
Meanwhile, a tweet by former TRS MP and Congress leader Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has also acquired importance after Reddy on his twitter handle stated that only BJP has the strength to oppose the TRS. With this, speculations of him likely joining the BJP have gathered steam.
Speculations are rife that Krishna Reddy, who lost in 2018 Assembly elections, might join the saffron party and contest the 2024 Assembly elections on BJP ticket. Krishna Reddy who was expecting MLC seat from TRS lost hopes after Sabitha Indra Reddy joined the pink party and became a Minister. With the TRS leadership not according him any key role, Reddy is speculated to join the BJP.
