Shamshabad set to become big centre for film-making
Hyderabad: Establishment of a film institute at Shamshabad, introduction of a liberal policy to promote film production in Telangana and the welfare of film workers are among the slew of initiatives to be taken by the State Government soon to strengthen the film industry.
State Film and Cinematography Minister T Srinivas Yadav on Monday held a meeting with Telugu film actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna and other representatives from the film industry here.
The Minister said that government decided to set up the film institute and the Revenue department has been asked to identify suitable land in Shamshabad. Land for the establishment of a cultural centre and skill development centre for film making will also be identified.
Yadav said that 10 acres of land will be acquired for housing to all the workers working in the film industry. To avoid delay in sanctioning permissions for film shooting, the Minister said that a single window system will be introduced soon.
He said that all decisions taken in the meeting will be forwarded to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his final nod.
