Shocking facts emerge from well of horrors
Hazipur: Even as the probe by the police into the brutal killing of a Class IX girl from Hazipur village in Bommalaramaram mandal, which came to light on Friday last continued, new shocking facts are coming to light and it seems the accused has a long history of committing such crimes not just here but even in Kurnool.
The confessions of the serial killer have left the people of Hazipur in a state of shock and despair.
During the interrogation, Srinivas Reddy confessed that he raped and later killed Kalpana in 2015 and packed the body in a bag and threw it in the abandoned well.
At that point of time, Kalpana was in the sixth standard and was returning home.
As the news broke following a press conference by Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, villagers in Hazipur gathered in large numbers.
Relatives of Kalpana also rushed to the abandoned well in which both Sravani and Manisha's bodies were found.
Family members of Kalpana said, "The local police did not respond when a complaint was lodged four years ago. If the police had been proactive, two more lives could have been saved."
District collector Anitha Ramachandran visited Hazipur and assured justice to victims' families.
She directed the police to dig the suspected abandoned wells to trace out the body of missing girl Kalpana.
Police with the help of JCBs have been digging the abandoned wells of Srinivas Reddy in Hazipur to trace out the body of Kalpana.
At about 7.30 pm, police found mortal remains of a body.
Under tight security, cops shifted the skeletal remains to the Government Hospital in Bhongir from where it would be sent for forensic lab for final confirmation.
CP Mahesh Bhagwat said that the accused was involved in five offences till now. The accused has confessed that he is a habitual rapist- cum- murderer.
Since 2015, he has killed three minor girls and a woman after sexually assaulting them. A thorough investigation will be taken up in all the places where he had worked as lift mechanic.
He said they found that he visited Adilabad and Vemulawada frequently and an inquiry will also be done those visits.
He appealed the parents to teach their children not to take lift from unknown persons and inform them.
CP gave a call to the public to come forward to tell the problems to the local police and lodge the complaints in such cases.
