Show some love to irrigation projects in Nalgonda: Komati Sr to CM KCR

Nalgonda: Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has a lot of love for Kaleshwaram project and spent thousands of crores of money on it, but he did not allocate 10 per cent of money spent on Kaleshwaram to finish the pending irrigation projects in the Nalgonda district.

Addressing the media after garlanding the statue of Rajiv Gandhi in Nalgonda, Komatireddy said the TRS government has been paying special attention to construction of new irrigation projects in the State eyeing kickbacks, but not allocating single penny to pending projects that were started by the Congress government.

The State government failed to fulfill its promise to complete SLBC tunnel project and Brahmana Vellamla-Udaysamudram lift irrigation scheme in the last five-long years, he said.

He informed that Udayasamudram Lift Irrigation Scheme was designed to provide water to 1 lakh acres ayacut and drinking water to 107 villages of drought-prone areas of both Nalgonda and Yadadri-Bhongir districts and would have been completed by spending a meagre amount of Rs 200 crore.

He further informed that to mount pressure on the State government, irrespective of parties, along with 5,000 farmers, he was going to conduct a two-day padayatra from Brahmana Vellemla project site to Jalasoudha from August 26.

He exuded confidence that Congress would win majority municipalities in the forthcoming municipal elections.

He demanded the State government to withdraw the decision of supporting unearthing of Uranium in Nallamala forest area which would affect the lives of tribals and flora and fauna of the region.

On the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, he launched a blood donation camp besides donating the blood.

District Congress Committee president Shankar Naik, ZPTC Vanguri Laxmaiah, party leaders Gummala Mohan Reddy, Nalgonda former municipal chairperson Boddupally Laxmi and others participated in the programmes.
