When panicked people rushed to the firing spot, Sadnandam fled the area. Police confirmed that Sadanandam had used AK-47 rifle after recovering enough evidences from the location.

The police authorities suspected that the AK-47 used in the fire could be one of the weapons stolen by naxals from Husnabad police station in 2016. Police launched an investigation to probe the links between Sadanandam and extremist outfits like Maoist and CPI-ML Janashakthi parties which maintained a strong hold in the area till recently. Three teams have been formed to nab the person and his family members were taken into custody for interrogation.
