Siddipet: Harish stresses on garbage segregation, plastic ban
Siddipet: Finance Minister Harish Rao urged the municipal authorities to take measures to ensure complete segregation of wet, dry and harmful garbage by the people. On Friday afternoon at his residence here, he had a lengthy review of the municipal garbage collection and plastic ban with the district's additional collectors, Padmakar, Muzammil Khan, municipal chairman Rajanarsu and councilors.
Harish Rao directed the municipal councilors and officials on public awareness and alternatives on wet, dry, harmful garbage, plastic and steel bank utilisation. The minister also suggested that special District Collector Muzammil Khan should take special initiative on the issue, including the prevention of wet, dry, harmful garbage and plastic, as well as garbage in bulk and pay special focus on catering, hotels, tent houses and function halls to turn the town plastic-free. He told the officials to prepare estimations for construction of She toilets, which have been proposed to be built at several areas of the town, near the farmer's bazaar and the Collectorate, at the old post office offices at Gandhi road.
Councilors were asked to take the initiative to utilise the steel bank.
