Sircilla: Rajanna temple in bad shape
Sircilla: The Endowment department utterly failed in providing basic facilities to the devotees, who will visit in thousands the famous temple Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple, alleged Bharatiya Janata Party Dalit Morcha State general secretary Gaddam Naga Raju.
BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to District Revenue Officer Khimya Nayak in Sircilla on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, G Naga Raju said that there is a ritual, which the people have been following since ages, every devotee will first visit Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple and then will go to Medaram Sammakka Saralamma jatara. With only few days left for the Medaram jatara, which will commence from February 5, lakhs of people are coming to Vemulawada. But they are facing lot of hardships due to lack of basic facilities like drinking water, toilets, poor sanitation and no prior arrangements. Moreover, Temple Executive Officer Krishnaveni has been discharging duty in Hyderabad as Vigilance Officer along with the additional responsibility of temple
EO. She is working for two days per week in Vemulawada temple and because of this, the temple ruling body is not working properly sans supervision, he added.
Naga Raju said that none is taking the responsibility to provide basic facilities since there is no coordination between the officials. He demanded the RDO to take the issue to the notice of the government for appointment of a permanent executive officer to the temple along with providing basic facilities to the devotees with immediate effect.
BJP leaders G Venu, B Malloji, R Raju Singh, U Anjanna, G Athma Ram, D Shiva Prasad, N Srinivas, Ch Srikanth, T Vijay Kumar, S Ramesh and G Sadanandam were present along with others.
Meanwhile, District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar paid a sudden visit to Vemulawada temple and inspected the temple premises along with the facilities that are being provided to the devotees. He expressed ire over EO Krishnaveni and Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar for not maintaining sanitation properly on the temple premises.
He ordered the EO to take immediate steps for the maintenance of sanitation and to provide all the required facilities to the devotees as many of them are visiting the temple in view of Medaram jatara.
He also warned her of suspending from the post, if she neglects her duty in providing facilities to the devotees.
