Six bodies along with car retrieved from Nagarjuna Sagar

The bodies of six persons who drowned after their car plunged into Nagarjuna Sagar were retrieved by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Fifteen hours after the incident, the NDRF personnel fished out the bodies and handed over them to their family members. They said that rescue operation was delayed due to the heavy inflow into the canal.

The six persons, all the doctors from Hyderabad were returning to Hyderabad after attending their friend's marriage when the car plunged into the canal at Chakirala village in Suryapet on Friday. The deceased were identified as Abdul (45), Rajesh (29), Johnson (33), Santosh (23), Naresh (35) and Pavan Kumar (23).

Another group of their friends who were behind the car noticed the incident and informed the police.
