Social & Tribal Welfare schools hold 'Impact' meetings
Hyderabad: Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions wore the festive look on Friday as thousands of parents attended the Impact meeting conducted across Telangana.
D Sravan, the father of Thirumal of Gandhari tribal welfare residential junior college, said, "we are grateful to the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao' for his vision for providing quality education in English medium to poor students, on par with the corporate institutions. He further added, "I wouldn't have afforded my son's education in a corporate school owing to poverty".
Eminent persons like doctors, engineers, scientists, police officers, revenue officers among others attended the Impact meeting as chief guests of the program in different institutions. They called upon the parents to take responsibility in bringing up their children, besides pointing out that education is the only hope for poor communities.
Dr RS Praveen Kumar said, for the first time, Academic Calendar (2019), Telugu version was distributed to all the parents along with progress report. The academic calendar contains information about various curricular and extra-curricular activities being conducted in welfare institutions for the all-round development of children. The academic calendar was distributed to parents to make them take an active role in the functioning of social and tribal welfare institutions. "Parents need to make sacrifices to provide the best possible education for their children, particularly girls, the secretary said. He thanked the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Minister for Social Welfare Koppula Eshwar and Minister for Tribal Welfare Sathyavathi Rathod for their support and making huge budgetary allocations for the social and tribal welfare institutions under the KG-PG Mission.
The TSWREIS conducts the impact meetings twice in a year to sensitize rural parents about the art of parenting, the importance of education, evils of child marriages and the need to send children to schools in time.
