Peddemul: Scanty rains or unseasonal downpour or unexpected pests usually damage crops giving big blow to farmers. But, here the case is different. Crops in almost 60 acres were damaged due to effluents released from a solar plant.

The only fault of the farmers here is that they have agriculture lands adjacent to Indur Solar Plant. The chemical waste that flowed into the fields damaged the crops, which were about to be harvested. Praveen, Ramulu, Lingappa, Narsimhulu, Chandrappa, Prabhakar, Ravi, Chinna Shekhar, Suresh and others grew cotton, redgram, blackgram etc. in 60 acres.

Due to the release of chemicals into the fields, the crops were severely damaged. They lamented that the investment on the crop was lost, leaving them in debts. They demanded action against the management of solar plant. They are also readying for legal battle against the management of the plant. When asked about the issue, tahasildar Tulsiram said he would look into the matter and see justice is done to the farmers.
