South-west monsoon to touch Telangana on June 10
With the south-west monsoon becoming active, it is expected to reach Telangana on June 10, said Dr Naga Ratna, head of Indian Meteorological Department, Hyderabad.
The south-west monsoon winds have reached interior Karnataka, some parts of Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu and in a few directions towards the Bay of Bengal, Dr Naga Ratna said. She also said that the monsoon winds are expected to touch Telangana on Tuesday evening.
She also said that they will officially announce the entering of south-west monsoon in the state a day after they enter the state. Currently, moisture-laden easterly winds are flowing towards Telangana and the trough formed to this effect will lead to rains accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds, she added.
With the entering of monsoon in the state, the temperature in Hyderabad has slipped to the normal range for the past three days. The city on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 37.3 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 27.2 degree Celsius.
