Special wards set up in hospitals in Hyderabad for corona suspected cases
After the corona suspected cases have been found in the city, Gandhi, Fever and Chest hospitals have been declared as nodal centres.
As directed by the Health Department, the hospitals have set up special beds and wards for patients suffering from symptoms of Coronavirus. As many as 40 special isolation wards in Gandhi, 40 in Fever and 20 in Chest hospital were set up and the staff attending the patients were given special training.
Meanwhile, the central medical and health department has sent a three-member team to the state to review the preparedness of the state in dealing with the outbreak of coronavirus. The team will inspect Gandhi and Fever hospital.
The team consisting of an epidemiologist, an infectious disease medicine expert and an official from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will also take stock of the thermal screening process for coronavirus at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).
The coronavirus having its epicentre in China has infected 2,744 people in the country and the death toll has touched 130. The central government is planning to bring back Indians residing in Wuhan. Around 300 Indians are learned to have been residing in Wuhan.
