Speed up lake beautification: Warangal Urban Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil
Hanamkonda: The design of the Bhadrakali Lake Foreshore Development Project is awesome and it's going to be a feather in the crown of historic Warangal city, Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil said, The Collector, who inspected the promenade work here on Tuesday, suggested measures to be taken for augmenting the aesthetics of the Rs 22 crore project being taken up under the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), a Central government's ambitious project aimed at holistic development of heritage cities.
He also made several suggestions to the 100 feet BT road that connects Bund and Hunter Road. An entrance point would also be made available for the convenience of the visitors coming from Hunter road, he said. He instructed the officials to complete the work related to BT road, lighting, parking facility and greenery. The Collector also inspected the food court and model toilets under construction at the bund.
He told the officials to ensure green surroundings that provide lung space for the tourists to take a break.
He emphasised the need for adopting local technology instead of going for the foreign one that invariably delays the progress of project work. The Collector told the officials to find ways to minimise the expenditure in the second phase of bund beautification project. It may be mentioned here that authorities have plans to beautify the bund for two more kilometres.
Special Collector Manu Chowdary, Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) Planning Officer E Ajith Reddy and EE Bheem Rao were among other officials present.
