Speed up lake front development work: Warangal Urban District Collector

Warangal: With the work on Bhadrakali Lake Foreshore development, one of the major components taken up under the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), Central government's ambitious project aimed at holistic development of heritage cities, continue to lag, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil has on Thursday warned contractors to face the music if they make any further delay in completing the task. The Collector who along with Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) chairman Marri Yadava Reddy and Municipal Commissioner N Ravi Kiran inspected the progress of work expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of work. "The contractors had already crossed stipulated time and they will be blacklisted if they fail to expedite the pace of work and complete it within a short period," Patil warned.

He suggested the officials to illuminate the hillock adjacent to Bhadrakali shrine on the lines of Golconda and Charminar. He also suggested officials to engage the services of Narendra Naidu, the C&MD of AV & Multimedia Consultancy Company, under whom beautification of Golconda and Charminar is being carried. The Collector said Bhadrakali Lakefront promenade could well be a huge attraction once the work on foreshore development was completed. There could be spurt in the tourist footfall to historical Warangal city, he added. He directed the officials to review the progress of lakefront works every day. Retired professor M Panduranga Rao, KUDA EE Bheem Rao, DE Venkateshwarlu, AE Siddharth, GWMC SE Bikshapathi, EE Rajaiah, DE Santhosh and Lee Associates team leader Anand Voleti were among others present.
