SPs A Venkata Ranganath urged to curb fake visa, passport menace in Nalgonda
Nalgonda/Suryapet: District Superintendent of Police A Venkata Ranganath stated that police department would take tough action against persons maintaining two or more passports with different names, fake passports and fake visas.
On Wednesday, as part of State-wide tour, the representatives of US Consulate Joseph Newberry, Chetan Bandari and Swathi Rekha Chodavaram met the SP at his chamber in DPO office in Nalgonda.
During the interaction, the representatives urged the SP to extend police department cooperation to control people migrating to US with fake visas and same persons having different passports and different addresses. They urged the SP to verify the supporting documents attached along with passport application with utmost care and to keep a tab on consultancies cheating the students and working class coming to US.
The SP informed them that department was taking utmost care while issuing passports to applicants only after conducting a personal inquiry by department's intelligence wing.
Stating that the police department was using modern technology in all aspects in the interest of the people and the society, the SP informed the officials that efforts were on to introduce facial detection technology for better results.
In-charge ASP G Ramesh, CIs Ramana Reddy, Shivaram Reddy and others were present.
Later, the representatives of US Consulate met Suryapet SP R Venkateshwarlu and held discussions about the procedure of issuing passports by the police department in the district.
