Sri Rama Navami festivities grip Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated with fervour across the city on Sunday. Particularly, Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kshetram at NBT Nagar organize celebration programs on a grand scale.

Sri Radha Govinda's special darshan in the form of Sri Sitarama, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyanam, Sri Rama Taraka Yagnam, Special pujas and Maha Mangala arathi were the highlights of the celebrations.

As part of the Srirama Navami festival, Sri Radha Govinda was decorated very brightly with a variety of flowers, Sugandha Dravyas and new dresses and ornaments.

Thousands of devotees from all parts of the twin cities got the opportunity to have Lord's special darshan on this special day. On this auspicious occasion, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyana feast prasadam, Panakam and Vadapappu prasadam were distributed sumptuously to every devotee.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa, president of Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad and regional president of Akshaya Patra Foundation (Telangana & AP) said that "the auspicious day Lord Sri Rama appeared on Chaitra Sukla Navami day which is known as Srirama Navami."

"Lord Rama was a great king, husband, ideal son and Lord. He followed the words & orders of his parents without any deviations. He was a complete king & ruler. His kingdom is praised till today as "Rama Rajyam".

Lord Rama gives pleasure to the devotees who pray to him. Let all of us follow his teachings through his life and get pleasure and happiness in our life," he added.

In the evening, Hari Nama Sankeerthans, traditional dance, Sri Rama Taraka Ashtothara yaganam were conducted at the golden temple in which many devotees, some special guests participated.

After Maha Mangala, harathi sumptuous dinner prasadam were also distributed to the devotees at the end of celebrations.
